Alterra is currently led by Robert Cooper, who has been with the company since 1984. In addition to being the recipient of numerous industry awards, Robert was the youngest person ever awarded the Home Builders Association Lifetime Achievement Award. The leading members of the team have, at minimum, a decade of experience in the field.

When embarking on a new project, the company’s first priority is to begin working with members of the surrounding district-as the creation of a spirited and appealing community will not occur without input from clients and existing residents. This approach is the core of Alterra’s development philosophy, they believe that no development will be a success without a sharing of ideas between individuals and groups that stand to benefit from it.

While Alterra’s main focus is residential construction, they have also worked on several commercial buildings across the GTA (namely Shoppers Drug Mart and Winners). The variety of projects present in the company’s portfolio demonstrates their ability to foster successful communities in a diverse set of locations and environments.

Post House Condominium. Located in the area surrounding St. Lawrence Market, this 21-storey condo development was designed to blend in with its historic surroundings without sacrificing luxury or available amenities.

Westwood Condominium. Surrounded by numerous transit options and the desirable West Kingsway area, Westwood’s compact 6-story size has the feeling of an intimate retreat-while providing easy access to Downtown Toronto, Mississauga Centre and Pearson Airport.

Network Lofts. Once the site of a Bell Canada office, this spacious development is perfectly situated in Toronto’s West End, with easy access to the Financial District and the bar and restaurant options of the Entertainment District.
