cooksville
Cooksville is a true urban mix, not a traditional suburban neighbourhood, and it manages to be a welcoming community. It is distinguished by communal green spaces, independence from the big city, and a bustling freshness.
Cooksville is a western GTA community in south central Mississauga, just south of Square One. It is well-known for attracting a diverse range of renters as well as manufacturing and trades workers. It is bounded on the west by Mavis Road, on the north by Rathburn Road, on the east by Cawthra Road, and on the south by the Queen Elizabeth Way.
This is one of the more affordable neighbourhoods in the GTA, attracting new immigrants, young professionals, and growing families looking to purchase their first home. It has a distinct character, and the real estate is divided between numerous old/new condos and more traditional homes. The current population is around 11,000, but it is rapidly growing as a result of the recently proposed “Vision Cooksville” plan. The goal is to create a thriving community strategy for downtown Cooksville that defines a cultural, social, and economic vision for the area and revitalises it. Homeownership currently stands at 58 percent, with 42 percent renting. The median household income is $81.358.
