Simcoe County
Regional municipality Simcoe County is situated in the province of Ontario, Canada’s centre. It bears John Graves Simcoe’s name, who served as Upper Canada’s first lieutenant governor. Simcoe County spans a huge territory, extending from Georgian Bay in the west to the eastern shores of Lake Simcoe.
There are about 500,000 people living in the county, and they come from a variety of urban, suburban, and rural settlements. Barrie, the county seat and the largest city in the area, is also its largest city.
The gorgeous beaches of Wasaga Beach, the ski slopes of Blue Mountain, and the picturesque trails of the Ganaraska Forest are just a few of the many natural attractions in Simcoe County. Additionally, the area has a rich history, as evidenced by the abundance of historical sites and museums, like the Simcoe County Museum and the Huronia Museum.
Simcoe County’s economy is centred on manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism. The Royal Victoria Hospital, Georgian College, and Honda Canada Manufacturing are some of the major employers in the area.
